Branar have a steadfast commitment to making and presenting the highest quality work for young audiences. The development process for each show takes up to 3 years in which we interrogate the story, present to test audiences in local schools and collaborate with a large team of artists and designers.

GALWAy 2020 Project
As part of the European Capital of Culture for 2020, Branar are developing a new show for young audiences, Sruth na Teanga.
Branar Téatar do Pháistí invite you to join us on an immersive theatre adventure through the story of the Irish Language, Sruth na Teanga. Branar will create different worlds, each offering a poetic interpretation of crucial periods in the life cycle of this ancient language. The audience are invited into an unforgettable theatrical experience, encountering imaginative worlds that evoke the landscape, history and forces that have shaped Gaeilge, one of the 10 most ancient languages still spoken today.
Full details will be announced this autumn.
An Exciting Partnership
In partnership with Poetry Ireland, Children’s Books Ireland, Creative Ireland County Galway, Creative Ireland Galway City and Creative Ireland Roscommon, Branar are in the early stages of development of a new project for early years called Pop Up Poetry For Lil’ Peeps. The show opens next year and will be suitable for creche groups and parents with babies, so sit tight and we’ll share more soon.
Creative Europe project :: MAPPING
Branar are pleased to collaborate with Baboró Internationals Arts Festival for Children and National University of Ireland, Galway on a new Early Years project as part of the European Small Size Network called Mapping.
Mapping. A Map on the aesthetics of performing arts for early years is an artistic research project focused on creating a sensory-based relationship with very young children, from 0 to 6 years, through performing arts. In particular, it explores the idea of “children-spectators of today and not only of tomorrow”.
Branar Téatar do Pháistí is one of the leading theatre companies making work for children in Ireland. We create beautiful, innovative, high quality productions that inspire children and their families.
We tour our work to venues and festivals locally, nationally and internationally.
We support artists to make work for young audiences through our tailored programmes of resource sharing and Tiny Show creation. We create opportunities for children to explore their own arts practice in school settings.
